Installing a bootleg ground or false ground is a way to trick a standard receptacle tester into showing that the plug is properly wired. This little trick creates a potential shock hazard, ground and neutral wires should not contact each other on the circuit except for at the main service panel.

Carbon monoxide, or CO, is an odorless, colorless gas that can cause sudden illness and death. This video has a couple of examples of carbon monoxide venting into the attic from gas appliances.
